In this episode Beyond the Business Suit I'm joined by Minda Harts. Minda is an adjunct assistant Professor of Public Service of NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and the founder of The Memo LLC, a career development company for women of color. In 2018, she was named one of 25 Emerging Innovators by American Express. And her book The Memo: What Women of Color Need To Know To Secure A Seat At The Table comes out August 2019 with Hachette Book Group.

Minda's Bio

Minda Harts is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service of NYU’s Robert F. 1) What are some of the things you do to take care of yourself? She has a monthly membership to Massage Envy and cooks for herself as much as possible to ensure she's eating healthy.
2) What are some of the things you do to recharge your energy? Spending time with her family and friends and also has a record player. The last record she spun on her record player is Whitney Houston. 
3) What are some of the things you do to keep your mind and skills sharp? She listens to a variety of podcasts from a really diverse set of voices so that she can understand what they are talking about and learn more about their perspectives.  She also goes to public speaking conference and retreats so that she continues to grow.
4) What is one of your superpowers? One of your gifts that makes you different than other people? Emotionally intelligence in terms of leading from the heart. Being able to discern when to button things up or give someone a hug has been a superpower.
5) What is your favorite “power outfit” or something you put on to feel your most powerful self? Her favorite power outfit is a searsucker suit from J Crew.
